PCCN (Portage Congregational Community Nursery) is a cooperative preschool in Portage, MI, with programs for both 3 and 4 year olds.
What is our Philosophy?
PCCN is a cooperative preschool where the teacher, the parents and the children all work together. Our school is not based on the philosophy of having all children attain a certain level of academic achievement, but rather the consistent nurturing of each individual child to fulfill his/her own particular social, physical, emotional and academic capabilities.
What is a Cooperative Preschool?
Our cooperative preschool offers parents the opportunity to observe their children in a unique, fun-loving, educational environment and to participate in their learning experience. As part of a cooperative preschool, you are required to:
-
Work 1-3 days a month in the classroom assisting the teacher as needed
-
Attend the field trips
-
Attend the mandatory parent meetings held twice throughout the school year
-
Participate at least one day during the year to be part of a routine monthly clean-up in the classroom
